Training and Work Experience

I completed my podiatry degree at Queens University of Belfast (1992-1995) before attending the University of Ulster at Jordanstown (1996-2000). After my initial degree I undertook a Diploma in Sports Psychology followed by a Masters of Research and have currently submitted my PhD thesis. The focus of my research has been in podiatric biomechanics and related sports medicine issues, specifically the treatment of knee pain with foot orthoses.

Since qualifying in 1995 I have worked extensively in the health service in addition to completing my research and lecturing in the Northern Ireland School of Podiatry. I have also worked in the Belfast City Hospital Sports Injury Clinic and Methodist College Belfast Sports Injury Centre. I have recently returned from Australia, where I was working in a large private podiatry clinic, specialising in biomechanical evaluation and orthoses therapy.
